A Dark Christmas.
Because of new "elf'n'safety" regulations our Christmas Festivities will be a shade or two darker this year. Many councils will be unable or unwilling to afford the cost of displaying Christmas Lights this year. Horrendous new rules mean that it is now illegal to hang Festive Lights from any public building or lampost unless the bolts holding them in place are speccially tested for their holding powers.
This has to be done by using special equipment and fully trained fitters, also using ladders will be outlawed because they are deemed to be "unsafe". Instead, operatives will have to use "cherry picker" type vehicles. This will mean adding horrendous extra costs to the simple exercise of putting up Fairy Lights.
Christmas? Bah. Humbug!
Just another nail in the coffin for anything traditionally seen as "British"! Wonder if it applies to the Hindu's "Festival of Lights" too?

the health and safety
the health and safety executive will run around primary schools flashing ID like
federal agents telling them they cant hang decorations on trees in case something falls off and a child is standing underneath and gets a bump on the head, and that means no christmas decorations allowed at all. But they wont go anywhere near hospitals where elderly patients sit in their own urine and faeces, or the mod where troops are not given body armor.
